Villa Resorts, a leading Maldivian hotel brand, has undergone a transformation and rebranding, marking the start of a new era for the family-owned and locally-run business. The brand, formerly known as Villa Hotels & Resorts, is preparing for the next generation of travelers, investing in a brand-led transformation of its entire company to create real value for its guests. The company is debuting its refreshed brand at ILTM Cannes and is set to relaunch officially in April 2023.

The rebranding includes a simplified name, Villa Resorts, and a new visual identity paying homage to the history and wonder of the Maldives. Each resort has been repositioned behind a unique Resort Concept, encompassing improved products, elevated service, innovative programming, and brilliant communication.

The transformation also involves the expansion of the group's portfolio to seven properties, with two new islands currently under development. Each of the resort sub-brands is invested with its unique personality, reflected in bespoke typography, imagery, color palettes, and styles of communication.

The Villa Resorts master brand will relaunch in April 2023 with a new website designed and built by Journey, and the rebrand of two of its existing resorts. Paradise Island will transform into Villa Nautica, a maritime celebration of Quayside Life. Simultaneously, Sun Island will transform into Villa Park, a lush and never-ending Lagoon Pleasureground teeming with experiences.

To complement the transformation, each resort has undergone comprehensive modernization, upgrading and refurbishing its rooms, restaurants, and public areas with stunning interiors by London-based design studio, House Nine. F&B concepts have undergone comprehensive modernization under the guidance and training of Food Concepts 360, led by Michelin-starred Irish chef Conrad Gallagher.

Sandstone, a label of award-winning South African wines and MCC exclusive to Villa Resorts, has been curated by world-renowned sommelier Kent Scheermeyer. Villa Resorts also developed its own coffee brand, Press & Pot, in collaboration with Cape Town coffee roastery, Deluxe Coffeeworks, and ethically sources and imports its own green beans.

"At the heart of the organization, a new Vision, Purpose, and Values serve as its guiding lights, ensuring that progress is rooted in a shared ideology," said a spokesperson for Villa Resorts. "We are excited to enter a new era of travel and hospitality and look forward to welcoming guests to our refreshed resorts."

Villa Resorts' rebranding reflects a Blue Ocean Shift, a business strategy that sets itself apart from the competition and creates a new market space. The company's transformation will not only provide a unique experience for its guests but also strengthen its position in the Maldivian hospitality industry.
