Kerry Hill Architects took inspiration from the curve of the horizon, the movement of the ocean and the circle as a recurring design theme, creating villas that feel clean, serene and exceptionally considered. The resort is highly photogenic, but its architecture offers more than visual appeal, particularly in the Ocean Pool Villas, where the design frames the lagoon beautifully.
One of the resort's most appealing qualities is how its atmosphere evolves throughout the day. Mornings can be peaceful and private, while afternoons bring more energy around the pool and Beach Shack. At sunset, traditional drumming signals a shift towards cocktails, dinner and evenings when dressing up feels entirely natural. Fari Marina Village adds another social dimension, with additional restaurants, shopping and beach-club experiences just beyond the resort itself.
Service is another standout feature. Every villa has a dedicated Aris Meeha, or island butler, but it is often the smaller gestures that make the difference, from anticipating guests' needs to arranging for an outfit to be pressed before dinner. The resort has a long, relatively linear layout, so bicycles and buggies become part of everyday life. Its polished architecture and atmosphere may not suit those seeking a traditional barefoot escape, but for couples and families who appreciate contemporary design, varied experiences and a little evening energy, it offers a distinctive take on luxury in the Maldives.
